POLICE apprehended three with seizing cash of Rs 2.64 crore from their possession in Bhilai on Wednesday early hours. In the joint operation Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit (ACCU) and Bhilai Bhatti police team took three into custody along with seizing the huge amount of money. The case will be transferred to Enforcement Directorate (ED) for further investigation if no relevant documents were produced in the same context, the police said. Police sources informed that on Wednesday early hours, on being tipped off regarding transaction of illegally gained huge cash, a joint team of ACCU and Bhilai Bhatti police swung into action and apprehended three from two cars (Brezza CG07/CM4883 and Creta CG07/BX/6696) with seizing the huge cash from the dickey of Creta car near State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Sector-1, Bhilai. As per provisions under section 102 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) the joint team police team seized the hue cash and took the three into custody for questioning.
 
The three involved in suspicious transaction of huge cash were identified as Govind Chandrakar (57), a resident of Ouri village of Bhilai-3; Vishal Kumar Sahu (28), Street-07, Sector-1, Bhilai and Pankaj Sao (30), a resident of Baikunthdham, Camp-II, Bhilai. In the case the police also forwarded a report to Income Tax Department regarding the cash seizure. Anurag Jha, ASP, ACCU informed that in the matter the police initiated the legal action after the three held with cash failed to give satisfactory reply regarding the huge cash in possession and its source. The three held with cash were released following the questioning for producing the documents in the same context. The case will be transferred to ED for further investigation if no relevant documents will produced regarding the cash in due course of time.
