many Naxalites are suspected to be injured in an ambush with the security forces in the forest area under the jurisdiction of Gadi police station area, on Thursday. The security forces had received an input about presence of 15-20 Naxalites in the forest area of Ranwahi, Maradabra, Patwa, Soopkhar. The troupes reached the spot and took action against the Naxalites. A cooker bomb was also recovered from the spot of the ambush. Joint force of Cobra 207 and Hawk Force undertook a search campaign under Anti-Naxal Campaign. In Chakarwaha forest area, searching and area

domination was done on Thursday.

 

Naxalites from Vistar Platoon-2 and 3 started firing on the security forces. The team retaliated and counter fired on Naxalites. In exchange of fire between security forces and Naxalites, 10-15 rounds of fire was done. Taking advantage of dense forest the Naxalites fled away. Many of them were injured and they were taken by their fellow Naxalites. After firing ceased, the joint team started search operation and recovered a cooker bomb, tent, battery, wire, medicines, axe, cooking utensils and other daily utility items. After the ambush, over 300 members of security forces have been deployed and they are undertaking combing up operation in every nook and corner of the forest area. The search operation will continue till entire area is made free from movement of Naxalites.
