Mayor Malti Rai presented quarterly budget for the year 2024-25 on Saturday in presence of Chairman of Bhopal Municipal Corporation Kishan Suryavanshi for the development of State capital Bhopal where proposals worth Rs 80887.48 lakhs were given nod for further allocation in various departments. While presenting the quarterly budget Mayor Malti Rai said that electoral code of conduct is expected to impose in view of Lok Sabha elections and current financial year will be ending on March 31, 2024, and during this period, BMC is recovering the revenue as well. She said that most of the tax payers pay their tax in February or March.
 
She said t hat it is not possible to make accurate assessment of the revenue generated during month of February and March. Addressing the members, Mayor said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started campaign to promote solar power and two cities of Madhya Pradesh have been included in this campaign. Bhopal is also one of the cities selected for the solar power promotion campaign. She appealed the people to make Solar Mohalla in colonies and contribute to make the city a solar city. Mayor Malti Rai announced that people who prefer to install solar panel on their rooftop before March 31, 2024, will get 6 per cent rebate in property tax for year 2024-25.
 
She also presented proposals for nursing home, hospitals license fee. BMC Chairman Kishan Suryavanshi said that the proposal will be sent to the Government for further approval. In her proposal, yearly license fee is decided as per number of beds in hospitals and nursing home. Hospitals having one to 15 beds are proposed to pay Rs 10,000 annual license fee while 16 to 30 beds is proposed to pay Rs 20,000. For 31 to 60 beds, license fee is proposed as 30,000, 61 to 100 bed is proposed as 50,000, 101 to 150 bed is proposed Rs 1 lakh, 151 to 200 beds is proposed Rs 2 lakh, 201 to 300 beds is proposed as 3 lakhs and above 301 lakh bed, license fee is proposed as Rs 5 lakh.
