MIDC Butibori police bust casino in Tembhri village

The MIDC Butibori police raided a casino operating under the guise of a video game parlour at Tembhri village, and seized cash and other material collectively worth Rs 80,000. Police have arrested two owners after registering offences against them and three others. The accused have been identified as the casino owners Shubham Jagdish Chachane, a resident of Tembhri, and Babu Sheikh, a resident of Butibori; Hanumant Anand Sonone (44), Sushil Gajanan Bhajbhuje (25), both residents of Tembhri village in Hingna tehsil; customer Amol Kawdu Uikey (26), a resident of Zenda Chowk, Samudrapur, Wardha district.

According to police, the casino was operating in a shop next to Mahakal Traders Building Material suppliers at Tembhri village. The accused were operating the casino with electronic machines under the guise of video games. The police received complaints that many youths from nearby area were betting in the casino and losing substantial amounts.

Acting on a tip-off, MIDC Butibori police raided the casino and held the accused persons. A case under the provisions of Maharashtra Gambling Act was registered by the police. Under the guidance Superintendent of Police (SP) Harssh Poddar, SDPO Puja Gaikwad, the arrest was made by Assistant Police Inspector Rajiv Karmalwar, API Bhujbal, PSI Khot and staff including Vinod Ahirkar, Vinayak Satav, Shrikant Gaurkar.
