Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Central Government has been dedicated to upliftment of tribal people, enhancing pride and dignity in last 10 years. Madhya Pradesh is the best example in the country to show how effectively double engine government is working. He was addressing tribal convention in Jhabua on Sunday. PM Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stone of development projects worth about Rs 7500 crore. Modi said that Jhabua Yatra’s purpose of expressing gratitude to the people of the State who honoured commitment towards development in the Assembly poll. He expressed confidence that the commitment of people towards development will stay firm. The Central Government is determined to live up to the public trust. Modi said that projects worth crores have been inaugurated in Madhya Pradesh including Jhabua, Khargone, Alirajpur, Dhar, Barwani, funds released under Adarsh Gaon Yojana for betterment of villages, big rail projects for better connectivity, Ratlam and Meghnagar railway stations. Development works like modernisation of Railways and giving Rs 1500-1500 in the accounts of two lakh sisters and daughters of the tribal society show that the double engine government is working double fast in Madhya Pradesh. The credit for this mega campaign of development goes to the public. Prime Minister Modi announced Krantisurya Tantya Bhil University in the name of Tantya Mama. Modi met the tribal people in Gopalpura of tribal dominated area Jhabua.
 
He visited the exhibition focused on development works. Modi reached the stage accepting greetings from the tribal brothers at the huge Kumbh. Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, Union Ministers Arjun Munda and Faggan Singh Kulaste, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Ministers, Khajuraho MP V D Sharma, National President of Tribal Morcha Sameer Uram and public representatives were present. A short film focusing on Krantisurya Tantya Bhil University was also screened. People from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra including Madhya Pradesh participated in the huge Tribal Mahakumbh. Greeting on Bhagoria Utsav: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while saluting tribal community who had come in large numbers with the slogan of Baba Dungar Dev Ki Jai, said that Jhabua is connected to Gujarat too. The hearts of the people of Jhabua remain connected to Gujarat. Referring to the tribal culture practices, he extended extended best wishes on Bhagoria Utsav. Development of tribals is our guarantee: Prime Minister Modi said that Madhya Pradesh is moving fast on the path of development. Earlier, it was considered a sick state. The government of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee created a new ministry for tribal welfare and made special provisions in the budget gaving priority to the development of tribal areas and tribal people. Modi said that the Central Government made a record increase in minimum support price on forest produce. The forest produce covered under MSP was increased from 10 to 90.
 
Van Dhan Kendras would be opened in the country so that tribal products could get good markets. Tribal society is the pride of the country and the guarantee of the country’s bright future. Development of tribal people is our guarantee. It is the Government’s resolve to make their dreams come true. Education of Tribal children a top priority: Prime Minister Modi said that the Government has decided to celebrate birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Martyrdom Day is celebrated today remembering the sacrifice of Tantya Mama and Krantisurya Tantya Bhil University is being announced in his name. Remembering Tilka Manjhi, the pride of the tribal community, Modi said that he had killed the Commissioner of Bhagalpur, Bihar with an arrow in 1784. Today is the birth anniversary of such a brave man. Higher education will be easier for the youth of Jhabua, Ratlam, Khargone, Dhar and surrounding areas. Eklavya residential schools are being started across the country for tribal students. It is not acceptable to the Government that tribal children are left behind due to lack of education. Modi said that the tribal society has been earning livelihood from forest resources. The previous government had put legal safeguards on the rights of tribal people. The Central Government has ensured the rights related to forest land to the tribal communities. He said that sickle cell anemia is proving fatal for tribal families. The Central Government has started a campaign to eradicate sickle cell anemia.
 
Most deprived and backward are top priority: Prime Minister Modi said that advancement of most deprived and most backward is the first priority for the Government. PM Janman Yojana has been started for most backward tribal groups. Development of tribal society remaining cut off from the mainstream of development has been ensured. Tribal groups like Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya of Madhya Pradesh are going to benefit from this. Works worth thousands of crores are being carried out under PM Jan Man Yojana in tribal districts. 24 times more to Madhya Pradesh for railways: Prime Minister Modi said that under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, development work is being done in 550 villages of Jhabua. The Central Government is also paying special attention to modern infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh. Compared to previous governments, 24 times more is being given to Madhya Pradesh for the development of railways. Today, railway projects worth about three and a half thousand crore rupees have been inaugurated. The National Highway has also been inaugurated today. Funds are being provided by the Central Government for the development of Madhya Pradesh in all sectors. The youth, women and tribals of Madhya Pradesh are gaining new identity.
 
Modi said that Madhya Pradesh and Central Government together have given houses to 45 lakh families in the State, more than 65 lakh families have got tap connections. Water has been supplied to thousands of villages. Talwara Dam Project will provide water to people of thousands of villages of Jhabua, Dhar and Ratlam. Modi said that due to double engine government, youth, women and tribal people of Madhya Pradesh are getting their own identity. A big market is getting ready for Pithora paintings and Bagh print sarees here. Sisters have formed a self-help group and started their own brand of honey, papad, pickles and cereals. The products here are being liked everywhere. The Government has set a target of creating three crore lakhpati didis. Three crore didis working in self-help groups of villages will become lakhpati didis, this is Modi’s guarantee. The Central Government is also going to provide modern drones to 15,000 self-help groups of the country under Namo Drone Policy campaign. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said that arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a fortunate opportunity for Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Modi is gifting Kranti Surya Tantya Bhil University, along with this, many development projects are also being inaugurated and foundation stones are being laid through his programs.
 
Union Minister Arjun Munda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given tribal their self-respect. He ensured respect for tribal warriors and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom. By building museums and writing history in different parts of the country, he has worked to make tribal people know themselves and integrate them into mainstream of development. Modi’s mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas has paved way for progress of the tribal community. Initiatives taken in the field of education are important. The campaign to eradicate sickle cell anemia is the world’s largest health care initiative for tribal communities. Foundation stone of Krantisurya Tantya Bhil University laid: Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stone of development projects worth about Rs 7500 crore. These include many projects related to roads, railways, electricity and water sectors. Also, Modi laid foundation stone of Krantisurya Tantya Bhil University, Khargone and also laid the foundation stone of ‘CM Rise School’ Rajala Jhabua. He distributed 1.75 lakh rights records to beneficiaries of Swamitva Yojana. This will provide documentary evidence to people for their land rights. Krantisurya Tantya Bhil University, Khargone is a dedicated university, which will provide facilities to the youth of high tribal concentration districts in the region.
 
This university, to be developed at a cost of about Rs 170 crore, will provide world-class infrastructure for the holistic development of students. Installment of food subsidy scheme released to two lakh women: Prime Minister Modi released Rs 56 crore for 559 villages under ‘Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana’. This amount will be used for various types of construction activities including Anganwadi buildings, ration shops, health centres, additional rooms in schools, internal roads. Modern facilities like smart classes, e-library etc. will be provided to school students. Prime Minister Modi distributed monthly installment of Food Subsidy Scheme to about two lakh women beneficiaries. In this scheme, women of various specially backward tribes of Madhya Pradesh are provided Rs 1500 per month for nutritious food. Foundation stone laid for Talwara Dam Project: Prime Minister Modi laid foundation stone of ‘Talwara Dam Project’. This is a drinking water supply scheme for more than 1,000 villages of Dhar and Ratlam. Apart from this, 14 urban water supply schemes.
