Ranjeet Agarwal to lead ICAI

CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal has been elected the new President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the council year 2024-25 while CA Charanjot Singh Nanda, has been elected as Vice-President of the institute. Agarwal, who graduated from Calcutta University, is a practicing Chartered Accountant since last 24 years. Agarwal is the 72nd President of ICAI and served as Vice President in 2023-24.
 
Agarwal took over the baton from the outgoing ICAI President Aniket Talati. Agarwal has served as the Central Council Member of the prestigious institute since 2016 and then served as the Vice President in 2023-24. He was also elected to the 23rd, 24th and 25th Central Council of the ICAI three times in a row. As President of ICAI, CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal is now by the virtue of his post the Chairman of all the Standing Committees, i.e., Executive, Finance, Disciplinary and Examination Committees, as well as ex-officio members of all Non-standing Committees and Editor of ICAI Journal, The Chartered Accountant. Nanda who was appointed as Vice President of ICAI was earlier appointed as a Central Council Member of ICAI India.
