A remarkable and unique initiative was taken by Ravi Malimath, Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, and Patron-in-Chief, MP State Legal Services Authority by inaugurating third consecutive pro-bono capacity building programme and making sincere effort to help the marginalised section of the society. High Court of Madhya Pradesh becomes the first in the country to initiate pro-bono training sessions for candidates of SC/ST, minorities, women, economically weaker section and others under privileged facing rigorous challenges of Judicial Services Examinations (MP Higher Judicial Service District Judge (Entry Level)). Recently, Chief Justice Malimath inaugurated capacity building programme for candidates preparing for mains written examination of MP Higher Judicial Service District Judge (Entry Level) Direct Recruitment from Bar, Examination, 2023 in presence of Justice Sheel Nagu, Executive Chairman, MPSLSA and Justice Vivek Agarwal, Judge, High Court of MP and Chairman HCLSC, Jabalpur and Companion Judges of High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur, Bench at Gwalior and Indore. On the occasion, the Chief Justice Malimath addressed the gathering about objectives of the programme and said that empowerment of the weaker sections and giving equal opportunity is our constitutional goal and Madhya Pradesh always been a front runner when it comes to performance of its constitutional mandates.
 
This is historic moment of State of Madhya Pradesh for organising regular capacity building programme for advocates. Such Kind of programme would not only benefit advocates but also helpful for institutions. The object of having this training programme is to ensure that we get good and qualified candidates and candidates properly trained to join the judiciary. If you have good Judge you get good Judgement. Looking to the selection procedure goes on in the State of Madhya Pradesh we are unable to fill up most of the seats because they fall vacant specially in these categories. Taking it as the challenge we make a sincere effort in order to help these marginalized section of the society, only then we will full fill the constitutional obligation towards them. We are making consistence efforts to help all those who want to join the judiciary. This training programme is thoughtfully designed to help those candidates as well as institution. Justice Sheel Nagu, Executive Chairman, addressing the gathering expressed “This capacity building programme is third kind of programme initiated by MPSJA and MPSLSA, which provide golden opportunity for candidates belonging to SC/ST, minorities, women, Economically Weaker Section and others capable for facing rigorous challenges of Judicial Services Examinations.
 
Justice Vivek Agarwal, Chairman, High Court Legal Services Committee, Jabalpur in his address expressed that High Court of Madhya Pradesh have earlier organised a capacity building programme consisting 50 sessions for advocates especially belonging to SC/ST, Minorities, Women, EWS and other categories preparing for preliminary examination of MP Higher Judicial Service District Judge (Entry Level) Direct Recruitment from Bar, Examination, 2023 on 24-08-2023. In that capacity building programme out of 480 registered advocates, 45 advocates successfully cleared the prelims examination. Vote of thanks was given by Additional Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh MPSLSA. In the programme Registrar General, Manoj Kumar Shrivastava, Director, MP State Judicial Academy, Officers of MPSLSA and MPSJA were also present.
