The apathy on the part of the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation is proving dear to the residents of Dhanwantari Nagar. The denizens of the area have been facing a number of civic problems. Already troubled with the dilapidated condition of roads, now the citizens have been facing inconveniences due to leakage in pipe line. Despite several complaints and requests concerned authorities are taking no interest to resolve the problem and provide relief to the general public.
Corporator, Maharana Pratap ward, Jitu Katare informed that for the past several months, water supply line near the new building of the cancer hospital has been leaking, resulting in lakhs of gallons of water being wasted.
The possibility of accidents was already present on the road in Dhanvantari Nagar, but now it has become extremely critical. Katare said they had recently staged protest by rooting weeds in ditches of damaged roads. Likewise, they also staged demonstration against the leakage in the pipe line. After long protest, the Medical college administration was ready to get repair the leakage. But, it failed to fix the leakage. But, instead of improving the situation, the Medical college administration has allegedly worsened the situation and left the road covered in mud, making it a hazard for pedestrians.
The road has become so slippery that pedestrians are slipping and sustaining serious injuries. The BJP corporator said that the authorities had been informed about the issue several times before, but their inactivity is so dominant that they don’t care about it. He said if is very shameful that such a busy road has become muddy, causing great inconvenience to thousands of people who pass through it every day.
