PM to virtually inaugurate city’s new airport terminal on Feb 29

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the new terminal building and other construction works, cost around 450 crores at Dumna Airport, on February 29 (Thursday), informed State PWD Minister, Rakesh Singh. Singh said while serving as a Member of Parliament, he exerted significant efforts to create a modern airport with the new terminal building. The central government approved a fund of Rs 450 crores for the purpose and construction work, including the new terminal building and other facilities has commenced at Dumna Airport. On February 29, PM Modi will virtually inaugurate the new terminal building, new runway and more similar work at the airport.
 
Singh highlighted that the new airport will feature modern amenities such as check-in counters, two baggage belts, elevators, escalators, modern passenger boarding bridges, firefighting systems, fire alarm signals, display boards, CCTV cameras, baggage scanners, a child care room, VIP room, snacks bar, ATMs, medical facilities and all public amenities. Likewise, there will be parking facilities for 300 cars, as well as arrangements for VIP parking and bus parking.
 
Apart from the new terminal building, construction work has been completed for ATC tower, technical block and fire station. He said the existing 1988-meter runway has been renovated and extended to 2750 meters to accommodate larger aircraft like A320/321 with ease. This extension ensures smooth night landings without any hassle. Singh expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Jabalpur to Prime Minister Modi, Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia and the central government for the significant gift to Sanskardhani.
