The joint three-day Counter Terrorism Exercise conducted by the National Security Guard (NSG) and Chhattisgarh Police concluded successfully in Raipur. The exercise aimed to prepare for various terrorist attack scenarios and hostage situations.
The exercise took place at various locations in Raipur district, including Circuit House in Naya Raipur, Mantralaya Bhawan, and Magneto Mall in Telibandha. Over 150 NSG Black Cat commandos from Mumbai and Delhi participated, along with more than 200 officers and personnel from Raipur Police and two teams of the Special Task Force (STF).
The primary objective of the three-day drill was to enhance the preparedness of State Police and NSG in dealing with terrorist attacks and hostage crises in Raipur.
The exercise simulated real-life situations using state-of-the-art technology and weapons to provide participants with practical training in responding to terrorist threats.
This exercise marks the second such drill conducted in Chhattisgarh, with the previous one held in 2017. The goal is to continually improve coordination among security agencies and enhance their capacity to respond effectively to potential security threats.
Following the conclusion of the exercise, a debriefing meeting was conducted to share feedback and insights gained during the drill. Detailed discussions were held to identify
areas for improvement and to plan future preparations accordingly. Overall, the exercise served as a valuable opportunity for security forces to collaborate, train and enhances their capabilities in countering terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the region.
