In the devastating incident on Tuesday afternoon at the construction site of Kirandul Complex of NMDC, four lives were lost. The catastrophe occurred as rock formations on the hillside collapsed unexpectedly, burying workers at Screening Plant III under the debris. Despite swift rescue efforts, the four men trapped beneath the rubble could not be saved. However, there is a glimmer of hope as two other injured individuals, who were also caught in the incident, are currently receiving treatment at the NMDC Hospital and are reported to be out of danger.

 

NMDC, has promptly initiated a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. In the aftermath of this tragic event, the Senior Management of NMDC has extended heartfelt condolences and assistance to the grieving families affected by the loss. NMDC remains steadfast in its dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of its workforce, pledging to implement any necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
