American Oncology Institute at Nangia Specialty Hospital launches advanced radiotherapy machine

IN ALIGNMENT with the theme of World Cancer Day ‘Close the Care Gap’, American Oncology Institute (AOI) at Nangia Specialty Hospital has introduced the Varian Halcyon E an advanced radiotherapy machine for comprehensive cancer care, the first of its kind in the Vidarbha region. This marks a significant milestone in cancer treatment as Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Halycon E radiation therapy machine. On the occasion, Harish Trivedi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), CTSI-South Asia in a press conference said, “The Halcyon machine known for its precision and efficiency in radiation therapy, signifies a paradigm shift in cancer treatment technology. Its innovative features promise enhanced patient comfort, reduced treatment times, and superior treatment outcomes”. Mahesh Nangia, Promoter of Nangia Speciality Hospital, Dr Rishikesh Phate, Dr Ashish Bhange, Dr Mangesh Patil, Dr Nitin Bomanwar, Dr Abinav Upalwar, and Dr Amit Dhawan, Regional Chief Operationg Officer, AOI, Nagpur were present.
 
Trivedi further said, “With the first cancer patient from Balaghat receiving treatment signified the official launch of operations for the machine. The launch embodies American Oncology Institute’s comprehensive approach to combating cancer, aligning seamlessly with their primary campaign, ‘Voice of Victory’. He said that it simplifies critical techniques such as craniospinal irradiation (CSI) for patients with central nervous system malignancies. The facility optimises image-guided radiotherapies such as cone-beam CT imaging within 17 seconds and helps in speeding up the treatment process”. Dr Ashish Bhange said, “The system is suited to treat cancer patients, offering advanced treatments for lung, prostate, breast, head and neck, and many other forms of cancer”. He further said that the introduction of the Halcyon machine at American Oncology Institute at Nangia Specialty Hospital underscores its leadership in advancing cancer care in the region. “With a commitment to innovation, compassion, and excellence, AOI continues to redefine the standards of oncological care, offering hope and healing to patients and their families,” he added.
