Sarv Dharm bridge in Kolar area of State capital Bhopal is almost ready to streamline the traffic. The newly-constructed bridge is adjoining old Sarv Dharm bridge near Chuna Bhatti Square. PWD officials claimed that only finishing and approach road work is due and it is targeted to complete the remaining work by end of February. Concerned department has targeted to start commutation of vehicle on this bridge in month of March or beginning of April. The bridge has been constructed under the six-lane project to ease the excessive traffic in the area. The 13 meter broad and 60 meter long bridge has been constructed with cost of Rs 5 crores. Construction of the bridge was started during year 2023. Officials said, as there was no overflow in Kaliyasot River, construction work went smoothly. PWD EE (bridge) Jawed Shakeel informed that structure of the bridge is complete and only approach and finishing work is due.
 
“We are making best effort to complete the remaining work by February end,” he added. The 15.10 km long Kolar six lane is being constructed since year 2022. One lane from Chunna Bhatti Square to D-Mart and two lanes from D-Mart to Kalapani village has been completed. Chuna Bhatti to Rest House work is also continued at faster pace. The old Sarv Dharm bridge not wide enough due to which passers face problem to pass through the road. Especially during rush hours of morning and evening, traffic jam take place and people keep on standing for several hours in hope to get passage. The new bridge will be beneficial for people to ease the traffic. Kolar Six Lane Project is being carried out with cost of Rs 279 crore.
 
Officials said that there was Kolar line on one side of the bridge and that was shifted to other place. A area near Bhoj University was repaired as the new bridge passes from the area. A facility centre constructed at the end of bridge was also demolished. The new bridge was inaugurated by Minister Rameshwar Sharma. After winning the recent Vidhan Sabha elections, Minister Sharma next day reached the field to check construction site of Kolar six lane and also directed officials to complete the task at higher speed.
