Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through a video conference, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for nearly six thousand Railway projects valued at over Rs 85,000 crore on Tuesday. The event, held at Raipur Railway Station, was attended by Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The programme also witnessed participation from people across more than 670 Railway stations and other locations through video conferencing. In his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the significance of railway modernisation in fostering the prosperity and industrial development of the country. He emphasised the efforts undertaken to enhance passenger and freight transportation, including separate railway lines for passenger and goods trains, resulting in increased speed and efficiency. The Prime Minister underscored the pivotal role of Railways in bolstering India’s infrastructure, with initiatives such as the construction of modern Railway engines, coach factories, and Gati Shakti Car Terminals. Modi reflected on the transformative journey of Indian Railways, from its historical challenges to the present-day emphasis on development and innovation.
 
He reassured the nation of ongoing efforts to transform Indian Railways, leveraging modern technologies and investments to ensure its growth and efficiency. Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasised that the development initiatives undertaken by the Government are aimed at nation-building rather than political gains. He reiterated his commitment to building a prosperous and self-reliant India. Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan commended the rapid development of Indian Railways under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted the positive impact of railway infrastructure development on employment generation, especially through initiatives like local product stalls and Jan Aushadhi Kendras at railway stations. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed gratitude for the railway projects valued at over Rs 85000 crores, which will enhance employment opportunities and local development in Chhattisgarh. He praised the opening of sales centres and Jan Aushadhi Kendras under the One Station One Product scheme, which will promote local products and benefit local artisans.
 
In addition to the national-level projects, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for approximately 249 crore rupees worth of 43 railway projects in Chhattisgarh. In the presence of Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Prime Minister inaugurated 40 projects worth Rs 124 crores and laid the foundation stone for 3 projects worth 125 crore rupees. In Chhattisgarh, under the Forest Station and Forest Product scheme, inaugurations were carried out at 34 stalls across 18 stations of the Raipur Railway Mandal, including Raipur, Mandhar, Mandir Hasaud, Tilda-Nevara, Sarona, and Urkura railway stations. Jan Aushadhi centres were inaugurated at Janjgir-Naila and Pendra railway stations, and the development of the Pit Line in the Durg Coaching Depot and the inauguration of the Rail Coach Restaurant in Bilaspur were also undertaken by the Prime Minister. Additionally, Modi laid the foundation stones for the Vande Bharat Maintenance Depot in Bilaspur, the expansion of the MEMU Car Shed in Bhilai, and the construction of a new pit line in Ambikapur.
