In a major achievement, Central Railway's Nagpur Division crossed Rs 5,000 crore in earnings from transportation of goods with a fortnight still to go for ending the financial year. This is a significant milestone in operational history of the division that is a major revenue earner for the Zone as, besides being an important junction, it is also a leader in loading. A proud Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Manish Agrawal shared the important milestone of Nagpur Division with mediapersons on Thursday. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr DCM) Aman Mittal, was also present during the interaction. Agrawal said, on March 13, Nagpur Division reached a momentous occasion as it surpassed the monumental figure of Rs 5,035.94 crore, as 18 days were still remaining in the current fiscal year. By 17:38 hours on the same day, the division had achieved a remarkable Rs 5,036.60 crore, marking the highest-ever earnings in its history. Last year, the division's goods earnings stood at Rs 4,595.16 crore, indicating a substantial growth trajectory.

 

With approximately Rs 250 crore expected to be added to the earnings by the end of March 31, 2024, this achievement represents the highest-ever earnings in the history of the Nagpur Division. Agrawal said they hope to close the financial year with earnings of Rs 5,200 crore. This accomplishment represents a significant breakthrough for Nagpur Division, crossing the remarkable Rs 5,000 crore mark for the first time. The achievement underscores the division's commitment to excellence and innovation, setting a new standard within the railway industry. The fiscal year target for Goods was set at 54% of the entire Central Railway, a goal that Nagpur Division has not only achieved but surpassed with extraordinary success. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of the division's Goods staff, whose relentless efforts have been instrumental in this remarkable accomplishment.
