Taking a note of the irregularities in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan suspended the construction agency, ‘Gulshan Rai Jain II’ at Bag Mugaliya project and imposed a penalty on the agency over slow going works the PMAY project while inspecting the projects of the PMAY scheme on Wednesday. Whereas at 12 number project, he expressed displeasure over the slow pace of works at the project and asked the officials to work for its redressal.

 

A notice was also issued to the agency over the same. The commissioner also found a similar situation at the Rahul Nagar project and directed the officials and the agency to complete the project as soon as possible without increasing the deadline of the project. He also reviewed sewage facilities at the project and also asked the concerned Additional Commissioner to review all the projects under the scheme twice in a week.

 

During the visit to the projects, he took detailed information about the ongoing works, number of the flats for each income group, current situation and the remaining works at the sites. He asked the officials to complete the works within the prescribed time limit. At 12 number project, he issued a notice to the Velji Ratna company involved in the construction and asked to increase the number of labourers working at the location to keep with the pace and directed to install safety equipment at the location till Monday.
