The party hopes to get 10 lakh suggestions from Maharashtra

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gone into poll mode. State BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule has announced launch of the party’s public contact drive ahead of Lok Sabha elections. Addressing mediapersons at a press conference at Patrakar Club of Nagpur on Saturday, Bawankule said, “From Maharashtra, 10 lakh suggestions will be sent to the party’s central office for BJP’s election manifesto for ensuring elections. Under the drive, 33,323 BJP workers across the State will reach every house with a box to collect suggestions.”

Greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be conveyed to the beneficiaries, he added. Bawankule also said, “From March 7 to 15, BJP workers across the State will directly contact the beneficiaries of the various schemes implemented by the Modi Government in the last 10 years. There are several schemes which Modi Government launched for the benefit of people from all strata. Through our reach, we want to make people aware of those schemes and convey greetings from Prime Minister Modi to the beneficiaries.” Bawankule hit out at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and leader Jairam Ramesh for their ‘mischievous’ post on Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

He remarked, “Congress’s move was aimed at creating discontent in the ruling party. Gadkari is an asset for the BJP. Gadkari has been working with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of the country.” Bawankule made the statement a day after Gadkari sent legal notices to Kharge and Ramesh for allegedly sharing misleading and defamatory news contents about him on X. “BJP condemns the post shared by THE Congress (leaders) about Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. People will not spare such individuals,” commented Bawankule. Replying to a query on the statement of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) President, Adv Prakash Ambedkar, that Nagpur Lok Sabha seat was very easy to contest, Bawankule pointed out, “National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win this constituency (currently represented by Gadkari) by securing more than 65% votes, adding in the same breath that, there was no possibility of the BJP joining hands with the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena in future. Sanjay Bhende, BJP State Vice President; Vikrant Patil, General Secretary; Rahul Lonikar, President of Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha; Sudhakar Kohale, Nagpur District President of BJP; Anil Nidhan, District General Secretary; Chandan Goswami, State Spokesperson were present in the press conference.
