District Election Officer and Collector Deepak Saxena chaired a meeting with candidates and polling agents for General Elections-2024, on Saturday. General Observer, Pranjal Yadav, Police Observer, Nagendra Nath Tripathi, Expenditure Observer, Rajesh Ojha, Superintendent of Police, Aditya Pratap Singh, Additional Collector, Misha Singh, Deputy DEO and nodal officers attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, DEO, Saxena detailed about the enforcement of Election Model Code of Conduct for conducting independent, impartial and transparent elections. He also informed about EVM commissioning, publication of crime background, permission process for candidates, polling agents, counting agents and norms of Public Representative Act 1951. He also heard the complaints and suggestions of candidates.
 
General Observer, Pranjal Yadav said that elections will be held under the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. He informed that Voter Cards and photo identity proofs authorized by the Election Commission along with voter slip will be essential for vote casting. Candidates were directed to ensure presence of their representative during the mock-poll. Police Observer, Tripathi informed about the priority on fair and peaceful elections and sought written information about any sensitive and vulnerable areas. Expenditure Observer, Ojha informed about candidates have to open separate bank account for providing expenditure details and separate teams are conducting monitoring of expenditure of candidates.
