Accordingly, the party is trying to tap into young minds. “We have prepared a plan to reach out to youngsters with the slogan ‘Phir Ek Bar Modi Sarkar’ and started implementing it. We are not only telling them what BJP is doing for them but letting them know the political history also,” said a senior functionary of BJP.
BJP is paying special attention to youngsters for the upcoming general elections. The party is following the action plan of the national party and the campaign has already begun. The Namo Maha Yuva Sammelan being organised by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) at Nagpur on Monday, as a part of that effort. No such convention was held since 1999, either by BJP or its youth wing BJYM. The Sammelan, to be addressed by J P Nadda, BJP National President, is likely to witness over one lakh young men and women from all over the country. The generation took birth
in 2000 or 2001 or even in
1999, became first time voters in 2019 polls when PM Modi won second time. They don’t know India’s history. BJP
will tell them through various forums. Modi Government
has taken external affairs to
a certain height and
made Bharat a four trillion
dollar economy, occupying
a slot in top five economic
power countries. Be it education, health, agriculture,
science, astronomy, Modi Government is shaping it in
a thoughtful manner.
These achievements are to
be explained to the youngsters, remarked a BJYM office-
bearer.
Through ‘Namo Yuva Chaupal’ 5,000 young workers will reach 25,000 youths each. Crores of youth will be reached through Namo Yuva Choupal at the national level. The campaign has already started in some states of the country and it is likely to accelerate in the coming week. Through ‘Namo Yuva Chashak’, the party has covered 75 lakh youngsters.
A programme like ‘Coffee with Youths’ is gaining popularity.
A senior BJYM functionary on condition of anonymity told ‘The Hitavada’, “Most youngsters don’t know what was Emergency, who and why imposed it? What were its repercussions? Who brought Section 370 in Jammu
and Kashmir and how Modi Government gave a sigh of relief to the people of the State
by abrogating it. When we
elaborate what good Modi Government did, we must let the youngsters know what
mistakes were committed in
the past.”
Through ‘Namo Yuva Choupal’, the achievements of Modi Government of last 10 years will be conveyed to the youth. “As the party has decided to get suggestions from people regarding our manifesto, we are taking special efforts in seeking the expectations and vision of the young voters. Specially, instructions to include them in the manifesto have been given from the central level,” said senior BJP leader. Party strongly feels that compared to 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Modi will get more support from the youths in 2024 elections.
