THE 9th Senior Mini Golf Championship was inaugurated by Chandrasekhar Bawankule, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, at Divisional Sports Complex in Mankapur, on Monday.
The nationals is being organised by Nagpur District Mini Golf Association, Maharshtra Mini Golf Association under the aegis of Mini Golf Federation of India. Mini Golf Federation of India President former MLA Sudhakar Kohale, presided over.
Deputy Director of Sports and Youth Services, Nagpur Division Dr Shekhar Patil, Senior Vice-President, Indian Mini Golf Federation, Dr Praveen Manawatkar; General Secretary of the Federation Surajsingh Yevatikar, Jagdish Ganbhoj, Shiv Chhatrapati award winner NMC Sports Officer Dr Piyush Ambulkar, Jijamata award winner Dr Darshana Pandit, Ketan Thakre, Sanjay Thorat, Surendra Chavan and others were present. Speaking on the occasion Bawankule said mini golf is played in 65 countries in the world.
He also mentioned that the number of players of this game in India is 40 thousand and soon the central government is making efforts to bring this game at a big level.
Chandrasekhar Bawankule was also nominated as the National Chief Patron of Mini Golf Federation of India.
Mini Golf Association secretaries from 25 States including Srikanth Sharma (Uttar Pradesh), Nagen Sharma (Uttarakhand), Shahjad Singh Shekhawat (Rajasthan), Vinod Kumar (Kerala), Dilip Kudali (Karnataka), Kaushal Shivare (Madhya Pradesh), Bhupendra Prasad (Chhattisgarh), Siddheswaram (Tamil Nadu), Vikas Patnaik (Odisha), Agil Ranjan (Pondicherry), Manjeet (Haryana), Subhrato Kar (Assam), Santosh Singh (Jharkhand) were felicitated by dignitaries. Kalpesh Bhagwat conducted the programme while Dr Ambulkar proposed a vote of thanks.
