Rear Admiral Brijesh Vashishta, Director General of the Naval Armament Inspection (DGNAI) of the Indian Navy recently conducted an official visit to Gun Carriage Factory (GCF) and Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK) in Jabalpur. He interacted with the senior officials of the Ordnance Factories. The focus of the meeting was to accelerate the production of indigenous products and reduce dependency on foreign nations. The DGNAI also appreciated the synergy of all stakeholders for the efforts invested towards indigenization and innovation in the recent years, while urging the senior officers to maintain focus on futuristic capability development for effectively overcoming emerging challenges in the Armament Domain.
 
Speaking on the prevailing security environment in the world, the DGNAI referred to the ongoing conflicts and stated that this has once again highlighted that being self-reliant without dependencies is a vital necessity. He brought out that the Indian Navy will continue to be at forefront of ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’ initiative of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and said that the Navy strives in continuing to lead the way in the field of indigenization of Armament Stores. The visit underscores the commitment of the Indian Government and the Indian Navy towards promoting domestic defense production, which not only enhances national security but also boosts the economy by creating job opportunities and fostering technological advancements. It is a crucial step towards achieving self-sufficiency in defense manufacturing, reducing import dependence, and showcasing India’s capabilities on the global stage. During his visit to NAI, Jabalpur, DGNAI has appreciated the efforts taken for indigenization by offices and staff of Naval Armament Inspectorate Jabalpur.
