Commercial department team of Jabalpur Rail Division found spurious quality of food materials and 80 passengers with irregular and without ticket during surprise inspection in three long distance trains at three railway stations, on Monday. Commercial Department team led by Senior DCM, Vishwa Ranjan conducted surprise inspection in three long distance trains passing through Jabalpur Division at three railway stations to check the quality of food in pantry cars and ticket checking of passengers. The team conducted inspection of Mumbai – Howrah Mail Train No 12322 and found spurious quality of potato, onion, fried fish, boiled eggs which are hazardous for human health. The spurious food items were disposed-off. Besides this, checking of fuel, utensils and packed food materials was carried out in the pantry car.
 
In the checking of pantry cars and passengers bogies in Pune – Danapur Mail Express No 12149 and Mumbai – Banaras Superfast Train No 12167, Commercial Department team found 13 passengers without ticket and recovered financial penalty of Rs 18,000 while 65 passengers were found travelling with irregular tickets and they were imposed financial penalty of around Rs 43,000. Along with the trains, team conducted inspection of food stalls at railway stations. During the campaign, waiting tickets holders who were travelling in the air-condition coaches were de-boarded from the trains and imposed financial penalty. Surprise inspections were conducted by Commercial Department teams led by Assistant Commercial Manager, Akhilesh Kumar Nayak and Gunnar Singh comprised of supervisors and RPF personnel.
