PLAYER of the match Kaustubh Salve, who returned with match figures of 9-124, bowled All India Reporter to a huge 185 runs win over Indian Gymkhana in the semi-final of the Dorairajan Trophy played at VCA’s Kalamna ground on Monday. AIR will now clash with Reshimbagh Gymkhana in the final to be played at VCA’s Kalamna ground from April 25 to 27. Reshimbagh Gymkhana were lucky to be in the summit clash as rains halted Ministerial Services Sports Club charge in the other semis. All India Reporter, who resumed their second innings from 111-6 in 28 overs, were shot out for 189 in 43.4 overs. Spinners Parth Rekhade (5-105) and Gaurav Dhoble (5-70) shared the spoils helping themselves with five-wicket hauls.

Set to score 332 for a win on last day of their three-day last-four clash, Indian Gymkhana crumbled and were bundled out for 146 with Salve (6-37) and Satyam Bhoyar (3-33) doing the damage. In the other semi-final played at SB City College ground, Reshimbagh Gymkhana edged Ministerial Services Sports Club on the basis of first innings lead after unseasonal rain prevented the latter from forcing an outright victory. MSSC needed only 28 runs for victory with seven wickets in hand when rain put paid to their hopes. Yash Rathod (87*) and Sooraj Raj (36*), who were going strong, were at the crease. Sahil Sheikh of MSSC, who had match figures of 10-120, was adjudged the Player of the Match.
