FIRST step of the joint venture of Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) and Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) to scout and train budding sportspersons begins with selection trials that get under way at the latter’s ground at Ravi Nagar, Amravati Road from Tuesday. In its effort to help budding sportspersons realise their goals, Sports Ministry has started KIRTI programme all over the country. The same will also be implemented in Vidarbha in collaboration with RTMNU. Through KIRTI, talented players from grassroot level will be scouted and trained. The training will be imparted to talented players which will make them capable of giving their best at the international level.
 
Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) is one of institutions which will train sportspersons in five disciplines namely football, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho and athletics. Director of Sports, RTMNU Dr Sharad Suryawanshi informed that players between the age of 9 and 18 years from Nagpur as well as other districts of Vidarbha will be able to participate in these five games. Selection for boys and girls will be conducted at RTMNU ground at Ravi Nagar, Amravati Road from Tuesday. Interested players will have to report at the ground at 5:30 am for the skill test.
