In the wake of the tragic discovery of two deceased employees in a gutter within the premises of Ashoka Biryani on April 18, the investigation has taken a significant turn. The incident, which left the community in shock and panic, has led to the arrest of two individuals and raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Registered under Sections 304, 34 of the Indian Penal Code, the case has seen Rohit Chandra and manager Rubina Mandal, associated with the Biryani Centre, taken into custody by the police. Following their arrest, the accused were presented in court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. Notably, the deceased individuals David Sahu and Neelkumar Patel, both electricians at Ashoka Biryani, were found in the gutter under circumstances yet to be fully elucidated. Initial reports suggest that they were assigned the task of cleaning the gutter, a duty seemingly unrelated to their usual responsibilities.

This has sparked concerns regarding the safety protocols and assignments within the establishment. Authorities are probing the possibility of toxic gas exposure as the cause of death, leading to suffocation. Post-mortem examinations have been initiated to ascertain the precise cause of demise. Meanwhile, amidst the unfolding tragedy, reports emerged of an altercation involving Ashoka Biryani Manager Rubina and some staff members and media personnel, including Vistaar TV cameraman Ravi Niri. Allegations indicate that Niri and others were assaulted while covering the incident, resulting in injuries and damage to equipment. In response, Telibandha Police detained Rubina and her associates. Investigations into the assault allegations are underway, with authorities emphasizing the need for accountability and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved in reporting such incidents.
