Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has released result for classes X and XII students on Wednesday. The passing per cent for higher secondary students remained at 58.10 % regular students and 13.26 % self-financing students. While the passing percentage of class XII remained at 64.49% regular and 22.46% private students. Anushka Agrawal from Nainpur in Mandla district topped the State in class X. She has scored 495 marks out of 500. Anushka has scored 100 out of 100 in Math and Science. Rekha Rebari from Government Excellence School, Katni, Ishmita Tomar from Agar-Malwa and Sneha Patel from Rewa shared the second position with 493 marks. Saurabh Singh from Satna scored 492 marks securing third place in the toppers’ list. This is the third time when board has declared result for both the classes together. Class X exam was conducted from February 5 to 28 and class XII exam was held from February 6 to March 5. There were total 7,500 exam centers across the State, including 610 sensitive and extra sensitive centers. More than 35,000 teachers evaluated the copies in 60 days. Girls outshined boys in both classes X and XII. In comparison to previous year 2023, class X result has declined by 5.19%.
 
There are 82 students in the merit list, including 37 boys and 45 girls. Student unsatisfied with the result can apply for scrutiny. In year 2023, passing percentage of class X remained as 63.29%, including 60.26 boys and 66.47 girls, while passing percentage of class XII remained 55.28%, including 52% boys and 58.75% girls. There were 8,21,086 regular students appeared in high school exam and out of this, 3,05,067 students passed the exam in the first division, 1,69,863 passed in the second division and 2,145 passed the exam in the third division. There are 1,00,391 students in class X eligible for the supplementary exam. Similarly, there were 6,23,341 regular students appeared for the higher secondary exam and out of this 2,92,799 passed the exam in the first division, 1,09,268 passed in the second division and 422 passed the exam in third division. There are 88,369 students eligible for the higher secondary supplementary exam. MPBSE is also providing re-totalling and copy checking facility to the students.
 
Students interested for the same are allowed to apply within 15 days of result. Any student having doubt on evaluation can apply for re-totalling or copy checking. After finding any mistake, rectified result will be released by the board. The academic year 2024 has seen a noticeable decline in the results of the 10th and 12th grade students compared to the previous year, 2023. In the year 2024, 10th-grade students recorded a lower pass percentage compared to 2023. The pass percentage decreased by 5.19% from the previous year . Similarly , 12th-grade students also witnessed the decline compared to 2023. The pass percentage dropped by 9.21% from previous year. This year passing percentage in the 10th class girls is 61.88 %. It is 4.60% less than previous year. Girls again makes their parents proud. The passing percentage of 10th class boys is 54.35%. It is 5.91% less than previous year and 7.53% less than girls.
