A car caught fire while travelling in Raipur, leaving the family returning from a wedding ceremony narrowly escaping. The car was completely engulfed in flames within half an hour. The incident occurred in the Lakhe Nagar area of Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on Friday night. As the smoke started emanating from the car’s bonnet, everyone inside quickly disembarked, narrowly escaping the flames. Within minutes, the fire intensified, and the car was completely reduced to ashes. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of the old Basti police station.

It is reported that two members of the Sahu family from Raipur were travelling in the car, returning from a wedding ceremony. As soon as the car proceeded from Lakhe Nagar Chowk towards Sundar Nagar, smoke began to emit from the car’s bonnet. The driver immediately pulled over, and the passengers swiftly got out and ran away from the vehicle.

The fire brigade arrived promptly, but by then, the car had been completely engulfed by the flames, leaving only the metal frame intact. Thankfully, no casualties were reported in the incident. The sudden emission of smoke from the car’s bonnet was followed by flames erupting, causing a brief traffic jam on the road. Pedestrians and passersby stopped to watch the burning car, leading to a temporary disruption in traffic flow, which the police managed to clear after some time.
