Providing a platform where the guardians’ complaints can be heard in front of the school managements, the District Administration conducted an open hearing at Collectorate conference hall on Tuesday. Taking a historical step to mediate between the schools and guardians to sort out complaints regarding arbitrary fee hike and also to understand reasons behind it, the open hearing was organised by the District Administration. Presiding over the open hearing, Collector, Deepak Saxena heard the complaints received against all the branches of St. Aloysius Schools and Stemfield School in presence of School Directors and parents. Necessary discussions to resolve complaints received regrarding school fees and educational materials including books, uniforms and stationary.

The school directors and parents shared their opinions and gave suggestions to ensure better arrangements. Collector, Saxena asked the school directors to inform the parents about fees and educational materials required in next session in October itself, so that they do not face trouble. This will also help to break the monopoly of shopkeepers who charge the parents of their own to make profit. He stressed that parents should remain alert in schools and protest against what is wrong in the campus. But the children should not face any problem in this. He instructed both the parents and school directors not to involve students in whatever going on during the hearing. He asked to strictly follow the circular regarding fees, and the District Education Committee will take required decision on the points which are not followed.

To stop the monopoly of sellers of educational materials, Collector Saxena said that they should plan to organize a fair for this in March. He said that parents will get the opportunity to match the fees recover by the schools with the fee list uploaded on the NIC website. If found any discrepancy, the parents must complain about it. Later, after deep discussion on the complaints related to fees, books and other educational materials, necessary instructions were given.
The hearing was attended by Additional Collector, Misha Singh, District Education Officer, Dhanshyam Soni and District Treasury Officer, Vinayaka Lakra.
