Nav Maharashtra Krida Mandal and Chaitanya Sports, Yoga and Cultural Foundation will be awarding renowned badminton coach Kiran Makode with first Bhau Kane Smriti Outstanding Coach Award. The function will be held on May 14 at Shikshak Sahakari Bank Hall near Gandhi Sagar Lake in Mahal at 6:00 pm. “From this year Nav Maharashtra Krida Mandal and Chaitanya Sports, Yoga and Cultural Foundation will honour coaches with Bhau Kane Smriti Outstanding Coach Award every year in memory Bhau. “This year city’s renowned badminton coach Kiran Makode has been selected by the committee as the first recipient of the award. He will be honourd with Bhau Kane Smriti Outstanding Coach Award and a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000,” said Secretary of Nav Maharashtra Krida Mandal Prashant Jagtap.
 
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will be the chief guest while MLC Pravin Datke, Commissioner of Police Dr Ravinder Singal will be the guests of houour. “Kiran Makode, working in Life Insurance Corporation, has been selflessly and dedicatedly training shuttlers for the past thirty years. He has produced many national and international shuttlers like Malvika Bansod, Vaibhav Bisne, Vaishnavi Bhale, Rashi Lambe, Jayendra Dhole, Sarang Lakhani to name a few. Makode was selected for the first award considering his dedication towards the sport,” Jagtap added. President of NMKM Dhananjay Kane, President of Chaitanya Sports and Cultural Foundation Charulata Naigaonkar, Shirish Bhagat, Naresh Shelke, Prashant Ulbhaje, Vijay Pandey, Piyush Bhardwaj, Yogesh Ghugguskar were present during the press conference.
