The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Orange Alert for Nagpur on May 12 and 13 as the district will witness thunderstorm with hail and gusty winds (40-50 kmph). The Weather Department has also issued Orange Alert for Wardha, Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana and Washim on both the days. According to IMD, there will be no major change in weather till May 15. For the coming week, the Department has issued ‘Yellow Alert’ for Vidarbha. Due to presence of moisture in the atmosphere the maximum temperature will remain around 40 degrees Celsius all over Vidarbha.
On Saturday, the weather was dry in Vidarbha, except Washim (3 mm). Despite dry weather, the partial cloudy weather the maximum temperature remained static as Buldhana, Gadchiroli, Gondia and Nagpur recorded day temperature below 40 degrees Celsius mark. While Akola, Amravati, Bramhapuri, Chandrapur, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal saw the temperature cross the 40 degrees Celsius mark on Saturday. Due to overcast weather, the relative humidity in Akola, Amravati, Bramhapuri, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Washim and Yavatmal was recorded above 50%.
