In a lethal attack, a habitual criminal wounded another history-sheeter in East Block of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Central Jail Jabalpur, on Monday morning. In the attack, a hard core criminal named Chhotu Choube sustained wound on his face and his condition is reported to be stable. The accused has been identified as Sanju alias Sanjay Sarang, son of Sunil Ahirwar who is imprisoned in a case of murder. Jail Superintendent, Akhilesh Tomar, while talking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed that prisoner of East Block in Sector 3, Chhotu Choube went was attending a phone call of prisoners’ cell under the supervision of jail guard. Choube was receiving the phone call where Sanjay Sarang attacked him with a sharp edged piece of metal.
 
In the attack, Choube sustained a wound between his eye and ear. Witnessing the attack, jail guards promptly caught the prisoner Sanjay Sarang and kept him in another cell and rushed the injured at Jail Hospital where he was given primary treatment and sent for a minor surgery. Thereafter, the injured prisoner Chhotu Choube sent for his hearing in the court. In prima facie of the investigation, Jail Authority questioned the accused prisoner Sarang who said that he attacked Chhotu Choubey to take revenge of compelling him in a fake case by giving false statement against him before the court before their imprisonment. Jail Superintendent, Tomar informed that Sanjay Sarang was earlier imprisoned in Sector 7 in East Block who is not kept in separate cell under special supervision of jail guard. His cell will be regularly changed under strict vigilance while further investigations are underway.
