NOBEL Sports Academy and DDYS Academy stormed into quarter-finals of the ongoing KickFlicks NDFA Under-13 Inter-Academy Boys Football Tournament being played at Dr Ambedkar Football Stadium in Suyog Nagar on Tuesday. While Nobel Sports Academy blanked Central Railway Academy by three goals to nil, DDYS Academy played a goalless draw against Star Football Academy. Nobel Sports Academy rode on Ahan Mendhe’s top play as he scored a brace to beat their opponents. Mendhe put Nobel ahead in the 19th minute of play. Daksh Buche then doubled the lead in the 25th minute. Central Railway Academy tried hard to reduce the margin but were unable to breach the tight defence of Nobel.

 

In the 38th minute of play Mendhe again found the net to score his second and team’s third goal to register a resounding win. In the second match, Cradle Sports Academy pipped Lashkaribagh Academy 1-0. Riyaz Ahmed gave Cradle lead in the 38th minute with his fine goal. His strike remained the only goal of the match as Cradle players maintained the lead till the final minute of the game. In another match, DDYS Academy played a 0-0 draw against Star Football Academy to qualify for the quarter-finals. Avinash Bankoti of DDYS Academy was cautioned in 31st minute of play. The other teams which made it to the top eight of the tournament include Sportian FC, SFS Football Academy, Porwal Football Academy, NDFA and XCite Play Academy.
