IN A sensational house break-in, two thieves burgled cash, gold and silver ornaments collectively worth 20.85 lakh from the residence of a businessman at Garoba Maidan in Lakadganj area. The two thieves first recced the locality during daytime and later targeted the house of Khemchand Dharamdas Amesar at Plot No 456, R K Palace, Hanuman Mandir Chowk, Harihar Nagar, Garoba Maidan, finding a lock on the door. Amesar (68) and his family members were out of station. Two burglars sneaked into the house after breaking open the door lock. They entered the bedroom and took away Rs 7.05 lakh cash and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 13.80 lakh from an almirah.

 

Amesar and family returned home around 11.30 pm on Thursday and were shocked to find the cash and ornaments stolen. They checked the footage of the CCTV cameras installed at their house and found two thieves breaking open the door lock around 3.30 am on Wednesday. Amesar immediately informed the police about the incident. Staff from Lakadganj Police Station arrived at the spot. Cops procured the footage of the CCTV cameras and launched a search for the burglars. Following Amesar’s complaint, cops registered a case under Sections 457, 380 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
