Deputy Director Sports and Youth Services (DDSYS) Academy and Sportian Football Academy stormed into the semi-finals by registering contrasting victories over their respective rivals in the Kick Flicks Under-13 Inter-Academy Football Tournament being organised by Nagpur District Football Association at its Dr BR Ambedkar Stadium in Suyog Nagar on Friday. In the first quarter-final, DDSYS ousted Nobel Sports Academy 3-2 via shoot-out while in the second last eight battle, Sportian FA blanked XCite Play 3-0.

 

In a keenly contested quarter-final, DDSYS and Nobel boys fought hard and were locked in a fierce battle. Both the teams could not score in the regulation time and the match was decided via shoot-out. In the tie-breaker, Thathagat Dongle, Yuvraj Sharma and Kevin Lanjewar found the net for DDSYS while for Nobel, Arnav Khandaker and Adeeb Wasnik scored. In the second match of the day, Sportian FA had no difficulty in marching into the semis with a 3-0 verdict. Aryan Tamboli scored a brace in 3rd and 38th minute and Viraj Gohade (9th) scored a goal in between.
