AMONG regions top football club, Rabbani Football Club, Kamptee started its off-shoot Rabbani Football Academy at Military Ground, Cantonment, Kamptee on Saturday. Ahfaz Ahmed Thekedar, President, Rabbani Football Club Kamptee, (Champion of NDFA JSW League Tournament 2023-24) was chief guest of the function while Mohd Mahemudul Hasan, Working President of Rabbani Club, presided over the function. Advocate Abdul Gaffar Ansari compered the programme.

 

Secretary of Club Mohd Asif informed that approximately 150 boys in the age groups of Under-13, 15 and 17 have registered with the academy. The academy is registered with the Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA), Nagpur. Boys practice daily in morning and evening sessions at the Military Ground. Ahmed, while addressing the gathering, promised to conduct an inter-academy football tournament in memory of his father Abdul Shakoor Thekedar.

 

On the occasion Ahmed remembered Mushtaque, Ramloo, Mohd Ali, Narsiya Mamdiwar, Salahuddin, Nazeer Pagadu for their immense contribution in development of football in Kamptee as well as Maharashtra and India. Arif Aarmatiya, Nasir Jamal (Coach), Ishrat Kamal, Master Altafur Rahim, Mohd Rafique, Mahfooz Akhtar, Lateef Nagani, Pervez Siddique, Asif Sarmatiya, Naqueel Akhtar, Asif Akhtar, Akhtar Jamal and a host of football lovers of Kamptee were present on the occasion.
