FATHER and son duo of Raja and Amit Rewatkar once again clinched double crowns by emerging champions in pairs and duplicate events organised by Vidarbha Bridge Association in their sports complex at Shankar Nagar. In duplicate event played on Sunday, Playwell, who enjoy the reputation of having emerged champions in many duplicate events in Vidarbha region, succeeded once again with a sizzling victory. In 40 deals contest played across 5 rounds of 8 boards each, Playwell seized the top honours by scoring 59.82 VP.

 

Playwell consisted of Rewatkars pairing with their regular bridge partners Kumra brothers Neeraj and Sanjeev. Nagpur VI comprising seasoned bridge players S Chhajjed, Puranik brothers Vishnu and Arun, Samir Roy, Anilkumar Mohota and M Dutta finished second with 50.20 VP. In IMP pairs event played on Saturday, competing from 18 pairs, Rewatkars again proved their supremacy by emerging victorious. Samir Roy and Arun Puranik walked away with second position. Amit Rewatkar was tournament director for this brain game.
