Three days after a middle aged man was stabbed to death at Ganjpara, the police have succeeded in arresting three youths involved in the crime.
The accused murdered the victim due to old enmity and the police have also been investigating into the role of former Corporator of the Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC) Ajay Dubey. Two motorcycles, two knives and the clothes worn by the accused during the commission of offence have been seized by the police.
Durg Superintendent of Police, Jitendra Shukla on Friday addressed the media persons and detailed on the crime and arrest. Police informed that the deceased Shri Ram alias Mantri Yadav (48), a resident of Pachripara had previously beaten the former Corporator Ajay Dubey and the latter had vowed to take revenge from him while asking his nephew Akshat to settle the old scores whenever he find a chance.
The accused including Akshat Dubey (23) alias Manya, a resident of Kadabmbari Nagar, Shubham Sharma (25), Aditya Nagar and Vansh Rajput (19), a resident of Gaya Nagar were hence in search for right time to settle the old scores, said police.
On May 21, they learnt
about the victim’s presence near liquor shop at Ganjapra following which they reached the location.
They started beating the victim and stabbed him repeatedly and on seeing the accused, the victim Mantri’s friend Balram had fled. Mantri was later taken to the hospital by locals and he had died during treatment. Police said that one accused present on the crime scene Amitabh Dubey alias Chandu is absconding and they are investigating into role of former Corporator Dubey in the incident. Meanwhile the accused arrested have been charged with murder and criminal conspiracy.
