Playwell pocket VBA duplicate bridge title

 

 

 

PLAYWELL, one of the older teams affiliated to Vidarbha Bridge Association, polished up their image just that little bit on Sunday at VBA sports complex. They succeeded in regaining the top perch once again, an act which this team has done most often over the past few years. Competing in 40 deals contest, Playwell scored 62.55 VP and seized the top honours.

 

Their team consisted of S Chhajjed, father and son duo of Raja and Amit Rewatkar and Kumra brothers Neeraj and Sanjeev. Playwell began their trail to the top spot with a confident 13.78 VP against Team Axis. Thereafter from second through to the fourth round, they earned 20 VP vs Orange City, 14.09 VP vs Friends and 14.68 VP vs Samadhan. Team Axis finished runners-up with 48.37 VP. Their team included M Hasabnis, L Madne and Mulla brothers Sajid and Ali. In 20 deals, MP Pairs event played on Saturday, S Watwe and S Iyer duo emerged champions. S Hastak and A Karandikar walked away with second position. Amit Rewatkar was the tournament director for this brain game.
