THE ‘Dhoop’ created out of Gomay (cowdung) has received Indian patent. This is the first such product that was created out of Gomay. The research was started by well-known Gandhian Economist from Pusad, N D Pandharipande, whowas fondlycalledas Nadepkaka. After Nadepkaka, his sons senior journalist Sopan and businessman Avinash, bothcontinuedtheresearch.In2018,they had applied for the patent for this product.

This year in January, Gomay Dhoop was patented. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat appreciated the product and efforts of Nadepakaka and his sons. He called it a matter of pride. The ingredients of this Dhoop were eagerly inquired into by the Sarsanghchalaks and satisfied by reading the patent documents. Nadepkaka himself started the research to prepare this Dhoop that can easily be performed in house. With the help of this Dhoop one can perform ‘Yadnya’, it is pollution free and it acts as a pest control preventing insects from entering home. All these claims of Pandharipande were accepted by the Controller of Patents.

This Dhoop contains 35 Vedic items including ‘Gomay’, ‘Panchagavya’, ‘Havan’ material, ‘Navagraha Samidha’ etc. This research took four years. Nadepkaka, a Gandhian philosopher of the last generation, is considered an expert on cow economics. The compost he prepared is today produced across the country with the help of NABARD. He also played an important role in the establishment of ‘Govidnyan Sanstha at Deolapar. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1997 also honoured him with M S Golwalkar (Second Sarsanghchalak) Award for Cow Economics.
