An Assistant Sub Inspector was brutally killed after being crushed under tractor trolley by mining mafia under the jurisdiction of Beohari police station in Shahdol district in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Mahendra Bagri, posted as ASI in Beohari police station. Two accused have been apprehended
Superintendent of Police, Kumar Prateek informed that the incident took place when ASI, Mahendra Bagri along with other policeman ASI, Gaya Prasad Kannoje and Constable, Sanjay Dubey, while investigating a crime case, reached Badauli village in search of an absconding criminal. Police team was on the way when they witnessed a tractor trolley arriving from Khadhauli village.
 
ASI, Bagri directed the tractor driver for stopping but the accused driver ran over ASI, Bagri crushing him under the wheels of while trying to escape from the spot. In the mishap, ASI Bagri succumbed to his grave injuries on the spot. Police team chased the tractor but the driver and another man escaped from the area and left behind the tractor. In further investigation, police found that the tractor trolley was loaded with illegal sand stock. Learning about the incident, senior police officers constituted separate teams for taking prompt action into the case. Continuing a rigorous search, police have succeeded in apprehending two accused including tractor driver Raj Rawat alias Vijay and his accomplice Ashutosh after some hours of the incident. IN the search of tractor owner, police found that the tractor belong to Surendra Singh who is a mining mafia and wanted with cash reward of Rs 30,000. In further investigation, police learnt that the tractor trolley was loaded with stock of sand from illegal mining site of Samdhin river.
