Amid the heat wave alert for nine cities in Madhya Pradesh, rainfall was recorded at various places on Wednesday.
Though it was sunshine since morning and humid weather was bothering citizens in Bhopal but during afternoon hours, rainfall bring sigh of relief to the people. Apart from Bhopal, Indore, Sehore, Mandsaur, Khargone, Ratlam, Ujjain, Agar-Malwa and few other cities recorded rainfall. Bhopal saw scattered rain in all areas for ten to twenty minutes. While Mandsaur recorded heavy rainfall, it was droplets in Khandwa. Agar-Malwa region saw cloud cover since morning hours and in afternoon hours heavy rainfall created water-logging on the road. Meteorology Department has forecast storm and hail in Sagar, Vidisha, Damoh, Betul, Khargone, Ratlam, Ujjain and Panna districts along with rain on May 9. Weather scientists also forecast for lightening, thunder and hail in these cities.
Cloud cover was seen in Agar, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Dewas, Raisen, Badwani, Khargone, Bhopal, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Gwalior, Chhattarpur, Jabalpur, Seoni, Mandla, Satna, Singrauli, Anuppur, Dindori, Katni, Rewa and Maihar. IMD has forecast rain, storm and hail in part of State for next two days till May 10. In the meantime, temperature is soaring above 42 degrees in most parts of the State. Meteorology Department has issued health warning due to the intense heat in parts of State with increasing day temperature. The Meteorology Department, Bhopal said, temperature may cross 45 degree mark in various part of state by next week. Weather Scientist Abhijeet Chakrabarty said that a western disturbance is activated in the state that is affecting weather conditions in eastern part of State.
However. the new system would not be contributing for the higher temperature but after May 10, day temperature is likely to touch 45 degrees Celsius. Highest day temperature was recorded as 43.7 degrees Celsius in Guna. Other cities like Narshinghpur, Naugaon, Gwalior, Khargone, Ratlam and Shivpuri recorded day temperature above 42 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperature in Bhopal was recorded as 40.8 degrees Celsius and minimum 28.0 degrees Celsius. Gwalior recorded day temperature as 42.7 degrees Celsius and minimum 28.3 degrees Celsius. Indore recorded maximum temperature 40.8 degrees Celsius and minimum 27.0 degrees Celsius. Ujjain recorded day temperature 41.2 degrees Celsius and minimum 28.7 degrees Celsius. Jabalpur recorded maximum temperature as 39.8 degrees Celsius and minimum 26.0 degrees.
