SB City College Cricket Academy boys won the VCA Under-16 Inter-Academy One-Day Cricket Tournament beating Nagpur Cricket Academy by 26 runs in the final played at the Citi Gymkhana ground on Friday. Jayesh Kumbhare starred with the bat and ball for the winning team contributing 24 runs and picking up four wickets for 28 runs. SB City boys posted 153-8 in their allotted 35 overs with Jayesh and Rehaan Batra top-scoring with 24 each. Tanmay Pawar made 23. For NCA Sanjay Shende claimed three wickets for 24 runs.

 

NCA lost both their openers for 19 runs but rallied brilliantly through a third-wicket partnership of 88 runs between Arnav Lunge (54, 71 balls 4x7) and Aryan Rathod (41, 56b, 4x2, 6x1). The duo took the score to 107 but NCA boys panicked following their dismissals and lost the remaining wickets for only 20 runs to lose the match. Jayesh was declared the Player of the Match.
