“People of Nagpur are my family, and their love is what I earned throughout my life. Any leader who gets people’s love should take it as an honour. With the energy of this love I shall work with more enthusiasm and try to fulfill people’s dreams,” expressed Nitin Gadkari. Gadkari was speaking to mediapersons at Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport on Thursday evening. He arrived after taking oath as Union Minister. He will be handling the same portfolio of Road Transport which he got in 2014. Gadkari registered third victory in a row from Nagpur Lok Sabha.
When he came out of the arrival gate at the terminal building, Bharatiya Janata Party’s office-bearers, city workers raised slogans for him. He got a rousing welcome. He responded to the enthusiasm of the workers silently. Against the backdrop of sad incident of blast at Chamundi Explosives, he had asked the workers not to organise any celebrations.
Senior leader of BJP Sanjay Bhende, MLA Krishna Khopde, MLA Vikas Kumbhare, District President Sudhakar Kohale, City President Jitendra Kukde, ex-MLA Ashok Mankar, ex-MLA Mallikarjun Reddy, ex-MLC Girish Vyas, ex-President of Nagpur District Arvind Gajbhiye, Vidarbha Organising Secretary Dr Upendra Kothekar, Jaiprakash Gupta, Vishnu Changde and other workers offered flowers to Gadkari. At his residence also Gadkari was welcomed by showering petals on him. Kanchan Gadkari welcomed him home in a traditional manner.
