Congress stages dharna

The Congress party staged a dharna at all district headquarters across State on Tuesday to protest the Balodabazar incident and the damage to the Jaitkham in Balodabazar district. Former Congress MLA and All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Vikas Upadhyay, along with other Congress leaders, were allegedly prevented by the police from participating in the dharna in Balodabazar district. Responding to the call of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC), the District Congress Committee (Urban) Raipur and DCC (Rural) Raipur organized a protest at Rajiv Gandhi Fire Brigade Chowk in the state capital. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel participated in the dharna in Raipur. Addressing the gathering, Bhupesh Baghel criticized the state’s law and order situation, stating that it had completely failed.
He remarked that violent incidents have been on the rise for the past six months, and incidents of theft, robbery, and murder are increasing daily, causing significant anger among the populace. Baghel alleged that the BJP government in the state has failed to control crime. A memorandum addressed to the Governor was submitted to the district administration. State Congress In-charge General Secretary Malkit Singh Gandu, Girish Dewangan, Anita Sharma, DCC (Urban) Raipur President Girish Dubey, DCC (Rural) Raipur President Udhoram Verma, Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, Nandlal Dewangan, Pramod Dubey, Sushil Anand Shukla, Mahendra Chhabra, Kuldeep Juneja, and other Congress leaders participated in the dharna in Raipur.
