Vikas Thakre calls it Exit, not Exact polls. Gadkari will win with huge margin: Datke
With actual results of the Lok Sabha elections to be out in a couple of days, the Exit Polls, on Saturday, have given a clear edge to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Nagpur Lok Sabha (LS) constituency Nitin Gadkari. His rival, Congress’ Vikas Thakre
has been trailing, the Exit Polls predicted.
The Exit Polls at 6 pm
on Saturday ended about 45-day curiosity of the
voters about the LS election results from Nagpur
constituency.
All the Exit Polls have give a clear verdict to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Accepting the verdict of Exit Polls in favour of the party candidate, election campaign chief of BJP and MLC Pravin Datke said, “Nitinji will win the polls by a margin of more than what he achieved in 2019 elections.”
Congress and Mahavikas Aaghadi candidate Vikas Thakre termed the prediction as Exit and not Exact.
Nagpur and Ramtek Lok Sabha constituencies are among those constituencies which witnessed voting in the first phase of the polling, on April 19. The actual poll outcome will be on June 4, 2024. The administration heads — District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar and Additional Collector Tushar Thombare for Nagpur and Ramtek respectively have to stay on alert mode. A lot of speculations kept doing rounds, curious ones kept predicting the poll results. Most people were sure about Gadkari’s victory while some were a little cautious talking about Ramtek Lok Sabha results. Many felt Congress fielded formidable candidate like Vikas Thakre to give a tough fight to BJP’s heavyweight Nitin Gadkari. Most people said, though Gadkri would register victory. The margin would come down as compared to that of 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But Pravin Datke was confident stating that Gadkari’s victory margin would increase as compared to the margin of 2019 polls.
“The development that was brought by Gadkari in last 10 years can’t be ignored. There was nothing to hide as far as city’s growth is concerned. BJP had planned its poll strategy systematically and every worker did his/her job accordingly. I think, no stone was left unturned during the campaign.”
Vikas Thakre was a bit critical on the Exit Polls. “The predictions of all the Exit Polls never come true. I am not novice in politics. We campaigned as Congress, Maha Vikas Aaghadi, I.N.D.I. Alliance. Everyone would admit that Congress never had such a cordial atmosphere in Nagpur. All our leaders came together, the cast equation too worked in favour of us, peoplegave positive response. Despite having inadequate funds, our workers endeavored during campaign. I shall only say that everyone should wait for June 4 outcome.”
People wanted Modi to continue as PM: Ramtek LS candidate Raju Parve
Though no Exit Polls talked about Shiv Sena (Shinde) candidate from Ramtek Lok Sabha constituency Raju Parve is confident of winning. Talking ‘The Hitavada’ Parve said, “People wanted Narendra Modi to become
Prime Minister again, so every victory was important. The way workers worked under the guidance of Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, Chandrashekhar Bawankule it would reap the fruits. We worked day and night plus the developmental works in last 10 years will give us an edge over our opponent.” Shyamkumar Barve, the Congress candidate said that he did not believe in Exit Polls and the picture would be clear on June 4, 2024.
