Earlier, Agrawal who was an MLA from Raipur South after his recent election as Member of Parliament, submitted his resignation to Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh on Monday as MLA. In his address after resigning from the State Cabinet, Brijmohan Agrawal expressed gratitude and reflected on his new role. “I am starting a new innings. Brijmohan Agrawal’s political journey has been marked by repeated successes. In the 2023 assembly elections, he was nominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as an MLA candidate for the eighth time.
He won with record votes, securing his place in the assembly once again. Subsequently, he was appointed as the Education Minister in Vishnu Deo Sai’s cabinet, marking his fifth ministerial role—once in Madhya Pradesh and four times in Chhattisgarh. Agrawal’s elevation to MP came during the latest Lok Sabha elections, where he was fielded by the BJP from Raipur. He triumphed over Congress candidate Vikas Upadhyay with a substantial margin of 5.5 lakh votes. Despite speculations of him being included in the Modi 3.0 cabinet, he was not appointed as a minister, leading to ongoing discussions about his future political trajectory
