RAIPUR/BALODABAZAR,
Balodabazar District Collector Deepak Soni and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vijay Agrawal convened a crucial meeting to assess and enhance the law and order situation in the district on Sunday. The session saw active participation from revenue and police department officials, including all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and Sub-Divisional Officers of Police (SDOPs). The primary agenda was to strengthen the information system at the grassroots level and to increase police patrolling across the district. Collector Soni emphasised the importance of holding peace committee meetings regularly in villages and maintaining vigilant oversight of religious places to preempt any communal tensions. He highlighted the need for organisers of rallies, protests, and demonstrations to submit affidavits to competent officers before receiving permission to proceed. This measure aims to ensure accountability and adherence to rules, with strict actions outlined for any violations.

During the meeting, Soni instructed that upon receiving information about disputes or issues in villages, Tehsildars and SHOs should promptly reach the scene to address and resolve problems. He also directed the Forest Department to act swiftly in resolving any disputes arising within forest areas. A significant part of the discussion focused on road safety. Collector Soni called for immediate identification and marking of black spots in the district to reduce road accidents. He urged for the collaboration of the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in this task. A detailed report on these black spots is expected to be submitted to him soon. SSP Vijay Agrawal stressed the importance of mutual coordination among police officials and advocated for increased patrolling, especially in rural areas.

His instructions aimed at enhancing the police presence and responsiveness in the district. The meeting was attended by Additional Collector Dipti Gaute, Additional Superintendent of Police, all SDMs, SDOPs, Police Station In-charges (TIs), and Tehsildars. Their collective efforts are directed towards reinforcing the backbone of the administration—comprising revenue and police staff— and ensuring a safer, more orderly district through coordinated and proactive measures.
