‘Our Govt is for people, farmers’ CM performs bhoomipujan of projects worth Rs 547 cr for Bhandara

“Our Mahayuti Government is the Government of common people and farmers. Our Government is offering benefit of Rs 6,000 in addition to Rs 6,000 that of Central Government, making the benefit amount of Rs 12,000 annually to be given to farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi. Besides, our Government is also giving benefit of incentive and bonus of Rs 700 per quintal for paddy,” said Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister. “Maharashtra is the first state to offer crop insurance at the premium of just Rs 1. Now Bhandara district will have overall facelift with the Rs 548 crore development projects and an international-level water tourism project is coming up at the reservoir of Gosikhurd Dam that will help tourism promotion in Bhandara and in generating ample employment opportunities for the local people,” he added.
Shinde was speaking at the programme organised here at Railway Ground on Khat Road in which he performed bhoomipujan of development projects worth Rs 547 crore that includes first phase work of water tourism project, underground drainage work, water body beautification in Bhandara and Paoni, etc. Shinde assured to consider to allow public holiday on the Baba Jumdeo’s Jayanti which will fall on April 3 this year. There are lakhs of followers of Baba Jumdeo. MLA Narendra Bhondekar, DIG Tshering Dorje, Collector Yogesh Kumbhejkar, Zilla Parishad CEO Sameer Kurtkoti, Superintendent of Police Lohit Matani, Dr Ashwini Bhondekar, Shiv Sena leaders Kiran Pandav, Mukesh Shivhare, Surendra Naidu¸Anil Gaidhani were prominently present on the occasion.
While thanking CM Shinde for approving the 547 crore plan for Bhandara’s development, MLA Bhondekar put forth the demand to increase the estimate of water tourism project from present Rs 102 crore to Rs 200 crore. Responding to which CM assured that Government will consider the extended proposal if submitted. He also demanded to build business complex of 20 shopping spaces for the members of Self Help Groups (SHGs).
Slams Oppn for fake campaign during LS polls
Lamenting the Opposition for spreading fake narrative during the Lok Sabha election about Constitution and reservation, CM Eknath Shinde said that their government will not allow any change in the Constitution. Similarly on reservation for Marathas, He said that there is no matter of worry for the OBCs as reservation to Marathas will not affect their benefits. He said that it was Congress party who worked to defeat Dr Babasahab Ambedkar in elections for two times.
BJP leaders’ absence spark speculations
Bhandara’s Guardian Minister Dr Vijaykumar Gavit, Minister Uday Samant, MP Praful Patel along with former Guardian Minister Dr Parinay Fuke, former MP Sunil Mendhe and other BJP leaders remained absent and this sparked talks about rift among the leaders in Mahayuti government.
Dam PAPs try to disrupt meet
Some project affected people (PAPs) of Gosikhurd Dam tried to create disruption in the CM Shinde’s meeting , but the timely police action prevented them by doing so. SP Lohit Matani, PI Gokul Surywanshi and police team dealt strictly and the demonstrators raising anti-CM and anti-Government slogan were taken out of the venue.
MLA Bhondekar joins SS (Shinde)
On this occasion, MLA Narendra Bhondekar, who had won the 2019 assembly election as an Independent and later had extended his support to Mahayuti Government and Shinde faction of Shiv Sena, today formally joined Shiv Sena (Shinde). He was welcomed to the partyfold by CM Shinde.
