RTMNU women’s team bags bronze

 

 

 

 

 

 

WOMEN’S team of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) clinched bronze medal in the All India Floorball Tournament conducted by ITM University, Gwalior. The team of Nagpur University played under the leadership of captain Ritika Kinhekar and performed well from the very first match. In the opening match, Nagpur University registered a big victory by thrashing KBC University 7-0. Captain Ritika scored four goals, Sharvari Mule scored two goals and Mahek Singh scored one goal from Nagpur team. In the second match, Nagpur defeated Mandya University 3-1.

 

In this match Ritika, Sharwari, Durga Borkute scored one goal each. In the third match, Nagpur was successful in beating MDU University 3-1 to advance in the tournament. In the fight for the third place, Nagpur University got better of Chinchugiri University. In the third place match, skipper Ritika, who was in good form, was honored with the best scorer award. RTMNU captain Ritika Kinhekar scored the highest five goals in the tournament. While her team-mates Sharwari Mule scored three, Mahek Singh scored two and Durga Borkute scored one goal. While in the men’s group, Nagpur team managed to register only one win.

 

In the first match, Nagpur men’s team defeated Mandya University by 4-0. But in the second match, Nagpur suffered a 4-3 defeat against Bangalore. Sameer Deodhar scored the highest four goals in the tournament, while Arif Ansari scored two and Hrithik Kawra scored one goal. University Sports Director Dr Sharad Suryawanshi has expressed happiness over the teams performance at the All India level. Also Vice-Chancellor of RTMNU Dr Subhash Chaudhary, Vice-Chancellor Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Registrar Dr Raju Hivse congratulated the teams and wished them luck for future.
