ADGP directs officers to enforce Indian Civil Defence Code from July 1

Additional Director General of Police (SCRB), Police Headquarters Bhopal, Chanchal Shekhar chaired a crime review meeting of nine districts under Jabalpur and Balaghat Zones at Police Control Room, on Sunday. He informed about the Indian Civil Defence Code and instructed the officers for ensuring its enforcement from July 1, 2024. ADGP Chanchal Shekhar detailed about the Indian Civil Defence Code through a power point presentation and directed the officers for providing its training to all the investigators in district-level programmes for its implementation from July 1.
 
ADGP reviewed the cases of murder, attempting murder, rape in which accused could not be arrested in 9 districts and instructed the officers for ensuring their arrest, declaring rewards on their head and seizing their properties. Separate teams should be constituted for apprehending persons engaged in property related crime, theft and loot incidents and ensuring recovery of stolen and looted materials from them. Officers were instructed for continuous monitoring of accused of sensitive crime cases who released from imprisonment. Shekhar also directed the police officers for putting-up a vigilant check on illegal trade of liquor and narcotic substances and conducting special drives against gambling activities.
